Food and Drink Attractions

An important part of any holiday is the local food and drink that you try and Dumfries and Galloway not only benefits from the natural bounty that is offered from the land and the sea in this south west corner of Scotland but we have an abundance of local food and drink producers. Bladnock Distillery is the most southernly whiskey distillery in Scotland, seconded by Annandale Distillery near Annan, close to the border with England. Crafty Distillers at Newton Stewart offer you gin tastings and at Sulwath Brewery, Castle Douglas, you get to sample the local brew and discover the craft that goes into the production of traditional ales. You can also visit Galloway Smokehouse to sample tasty smoked meats, enjoy ice-cream and cheese from Cream O’ Galloway and at The Cocoabean Company, enjoy chocolate making and sampling.  Many of the towns run Producers markets on Sundays with a wide variety of locally made food and drink on sale.
