Fishing And Golf Courses Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway is home to many outstanding golf courses, including four 9-hole golf courses within easy reach of Barstobrick at Castle Douglas, Gatehouse of Fleet, Dalbeattie and New Galloway. Kirkcudbright Golf Club has panoramic views over the famous Artists Town and this 18-hole parkland course is of exceptional quality. Another 18-hole course is at Colvend Golf Club, Dalbeattie with stunning views of the Solway Coast across to the Cumbria Fells and the Isle of Man.  Tee Time availability is excellent, but for some advance booking is advised. Fees are affordable from £20 and the courses are suitable for all abilities and golf parties are welcome.

If you prefer a peaceful day fishing, an excellent port of call is M McCowan and Son, Castle Douglas where you can buy fishing permits. There are many good fishing spots in Drumfries and Galloway and nearby there’s Greenhill Fishery at Dalbeattie where you can enjoy trout and coarse fishing in a peaceful secluded valley.
